About Oakville Avian Care

A passion for avian wellbeing, rooted in years of hands-on experience. Discover the people, values, and philosophy behind Oakville's most trusted bird care service.

From Rescue Work to Oakville's Premier Avian Care

Oakville Avian Care was born from years of volunteer work with bird rescues across southern Ontario. Our founder spent over fifteen years rehabilitating surrendered parrots, nursing injured wild birds back to health, and educating communities about responsible avian ownership. Through countless hours of hands-on care, a deep understanding of avian behaviour, nutrition, and wellness took root.

The idea for a dedicated sitting and boarding service emerged when fellow rescue volunteers kept asking the same question: who can I trust to care for my bird while I travel? The answer, time and again, was that truly knowledgeable, compassionate bird care was nearly impossible to find. Oakville Avian Care was founded to fill that gap with a service that meets the exacting standards of experienced bird owners.

Today, we serve families across Oakville and the surrounding communities, bringing the same meticulous attention and genuine love to every bird that walks through our door. Our rescue heritage informs everything we do, from our enrichment protocols to our gentle handling techniques, ensuring that every feathered guest receives care worthy of their unique spirit.

The Principles That Guide Our Care

Compassion First

Every decision we make starts with what is best for the bird. Our rescue heritage taught us to prioritise wellbeing above all else, and that principle guides every aspect of our service.

Integrity & Transparency

We are honest and forthright in everything we do, from our pricing to our care logs. You will always know exactly what is happening with your bird and why.

Continuous Learning

Avian science is always evolving, and so are we. Our team pursues ongoing education in avian health, behaviour, and nutrition to ensure our care remains at the forefront of best practices.

Community & Trust

We are deeply embedded in the Oakville community and take our responsibility seriously. Building lasting, trust-based relationships with our clients and their birds is at the heart of what we do.
