We keep this simple, because your privacy is not complicated to us. The only information we ever ask for is what we need to answer your message and look after your bird well. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to have it removed.

Almost everything we hold about you comes straight from our contact form. When you reach out to ask a question or request a consultation, you choose what to tell us. That typically includes your name, email address, and the details you type into the message, such as your bird's species, the dates you are travelling, and any special requirements like medications or dietary notes.
If you phone or email us directly at info@oakvilleaviancare.ca instead, we simply keep whatever you choose to share in that conversation. We do not run trackers that try to build a profile of you, and we do not buy information about you from anyone else.
There is really only one reason: to answer your inquiry and arrange care for your bird. We use the details from your form to reply to you, to prepare a quote that fits your bird's needs, to confirm boarding dates, and to make sure we have the right care instructions before your bird ever arrives. That is the whole purpose.
We do not use your information to send marketing blasts, and we will not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for. If we ever want to follow up with something beyond your original request, we will ask you first.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, full stop. Your details are not a product. The only people who see what you send are the small team at Oakville Avian Care who are actually involved in responding to you and caring for your bird.
The narrow exceptions are practical ones: the email and form services that carry your message to our inbox, and, with your consent, a trusted avian veterinarian in the Oakville area if your bird needs care during a stay. We would also disclose information if the law genuinely required it, which has never happened and we hope never will.
We hold onto your information only for as long as it is useful. Inquiries that do not turn into a booking are cleared from our active records within roughly twelve months. If you do book with us, we keep your bird's care notes and our correspondence for as long as you remain a client and for a reasonable period afterward, so that your next stay is easier to arrange and we remember your bird's preferences.
If you would rather we did not keep anything once your visit is finished, just say so and we will remove it.
Your messages reach us over a secure, encrypted connection. We treat what you tell us with the same care we give your bird, sharing it only with the people who genuinely need it to do their job and keeping it away from everyone else.
You are always in control of your own details. At any time you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct something that is wrong, or delete your information entirely. There is no form to fill in and no hoops to jump through. Email info@oakvilleaviancare.ca with what you would like done and we will take care of it promptly, usually within a few days.
If the way we handle information ever changes, we will update this page and adjust the date at the top. The plain-English promise behind it will not change: we collect only what we need, we use it only to help you and your bird, and we never sell it.
